Bestie Slumber Party Photoshoot

Photographing this colorful group of high school girls was like a recollection of watching 13 going on 30, Sleepover, and She’s All That… all over again.
From make-up with bejeweled faces to pillow fights and popcorn, this session was inspired by summer traditions and sisterhood.
I love collaborating with other creatives. One of the girls, Savannah, helped to organize and decorate. I sent her the inspiration photos and she executed it to perfection! They all wore Roller Rabbit PJ’s and we chose music videos to play on the projector verses a movie so they could jump and dance around. The smash cake at the end was Savanah’s idea and turned out so fun! Having props and action give a story to tell is essential! It truly looks like (and felt like) a teenage slumber party that I simply got to capture. And that’s the goal of a photoshoot like this. Making memories in the here and now and savoring them forever.
When I met them last summer for a best friend summer photoshoot, I immediately saw the bonds between them — the core connection, the trust, and the secrets they keep. I was thrilled to be able to capture all that and more again.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: best friends photoshoots should be normalized and re-done each year even into adulthood! Let these girls be an inspiration to you. I can’t wait to see what we dream up for next year!
