REVERIE REVIVAL BIG SUR

SOLD OUT

There came a moment at last years Revival when we were all sitting on rocks in the Sol Duc River at sunrise, it was about half way through our trip and a family was formed and we all knew it. The peace that was present, the unbelievable scenery, then the words, the packed down deep feelings that were being brought to the surface, the clarity that was given and the nonjudgemental eyes that were locked. We knew life brought us together and that the world had so much more to offer us than the box we unknowingly formed around our lives.

Because there are friends you are intended to meet, moments you are meant to experience. I would not have traded any one person that attended Reverie Revival last year for anyone else, because that group still talks on a daily basis, shares life together and you know why – because for 5 days we had to depend on one another. There wasn’t google, there wasn’t our spouse to run to, there wasn’t our work to hide in, there was life with other women and the real presence of earth.

I am not saying it was the easiest of all my trips, but it was the most rewarding. Reverie Revival is meant for those souls that know they need other women to walk alongside them, that know they need nature to breathe life back into them and to allow moments of truly releasing fears and allow burdens to be no more.

This year we are picking up the vans in Santa Cruz and heading up the California coast line to Big Sur and more! We will stop at Moss Landing and Cannery Row in Monterey on day one as we head up to the Brixby Bridge and Point Sur Lighthouse in our amazing VW Westfalias!! Day 2-5 will consist of camping, caravanning slowly up the coast and back down while using our walkie-talkies to sing to one another (or use for navigation) whichever seems right at the moment. Trust me, there will be many many experiences you will not share with anyone else except within your new gang.

THE JOURNEY

I call this a “workshop” but not a formal one. The undocumented parts are the times you will learn the most. Pillow talk, campfire circle, driving times – everyone that attends are open books and willing to share work experiences and advice. Especially when everyone busts out their cameras and you get to witness how each person shoots differently. And seeing how others uses of lenses and perspectives will then inspire you.

Out of ALL my workshops, Reverie Revival produced the MOST amount of images. Reason being, it was extremely personal. Scenery, details, the vans and most importantly our pictures of one another. We get to see the vulnerable sides of each other and as photographers, that is what we aim to capture, you know? There is pride in photographing your friend as you see them and how they see you. Letting others photograph the real you – changes your soul.

Reverie Revival will begin with van pick up on October 1st and returning afternoon of the 5th.
We will meet in Santa Cruz on the 1st to pickup vans and hit the road, Jack.

UPDATE!!

It happened. The most incredible week of slowing down, going without our “comfort” items..re-evaluating what we need and don’t need in our lives..connecting with nature, I mean. EVERYTHING you essentially need to live a healthy life is what we did this week.

Intimacy has the ability to show up in every part of your life. From the conversations you have, to the hugs you share, to the unspoken energy. It’s there and it’s my favorite place to be. I seek to be in the wave of intimacy when my hand and eye meet another.  I seek to be in the intimate adage of verbal and physical transactions.
