It was 103 degrees when I showed up to their little homestead in Oklahoma.. the three girls named Goldie, Halo and Glory were down to their underwear escaping the heat, brushing each others hair and keeping cool inside their vintage camper.
Mom was breastfeeding their newest, Beacon.. and dad was out with the pup.
I was already in photography heaven. The rawness, most authentic moments were unfolding. They did get their photo clothes on and wandered outside to show me their garden, chickens and cow named Twinkle. The bare feet, holding of chickens, the climbing on hay had me in all my feelings.
The most beautiful, simplistic living creates some of the most profound childhood memories.
I don’t think families quite understand the impact they have on me. I get to meet new families all week and see/hear stories, testimonies and love in all forms so frequently that I truly feel I could write a fantastic novel.
I hope you get to see and feel these images as if you were there.. I kept the editing simple on these, true to color and moments because I want you to see it how I saw it.
