There are sessions that photograph beautifully, and then there are sessions that feel like walking into a fever dream with flickering amber light, whispered history, and a bride. Allison’s bridal portrait session at The Empress House in Little Rock was undeniably the latter. From the moment we stepped inside, the house had its own kind of gravity. Victorian wallpaper pulling you backward through a century, a chandelier light falling in thick, honeyed pools. Rooms that felt like they’d been waiting to be photographed or perhaps, like they’d been photographed so many times they knew exactly how to behave.
And Allison moved through all of it like she’d been there before.

The exterior shots against the tower offered something architectural and dramatic. Inside, the warm, amber-soaked interiors created images that read as much painting as photograph. The veil catching window light. The gown pooling across Victorian floorboards. Details that make you feel something.

For Allison, that meant leaning into the drama of the space. The long cathedral veil, white gloves that felt period-correct in the Victorian rooms and somehow entirely modern at the same time. A strapless ballgown that filled every room it entered.
We shot through the late afternoon light, working the interior rooms first — the florals and wallpaper and warm lamp glow — before moving outside to the iconic tower exterior where the brick and sky gave us something coolly editorial to balance against the warmth inside. The result is a gallery that tells a complete story: intimate and architectural, romantic and cinematic, always, unmistakably hers.
