The summer heat of [ Little Rock ] Arkansas is quite literally the hottest and most humid place I have ever lived! And I was born and raised mostly in Florida! Started to compare humidity some days on my weather app from here to Florida and here would be so much higher. I know, such an adult thing to do. But summers are still the best season God ever created, in my opinion. There is a feeling of freedom, of growing, transitioning, being unschooled, finding love, keeping secrets, learning more about yourself.
And sometimes we get the amazing privilege of doing it with others year after year. Sometimes grow closer, sometimes not.. but either way, the company we kept during that summer of __ will forever be part of our lives and having professional photos to show that connection is important. It allows an “outsider,” of your friend group to pick up on the relationships, to see the beauty, love and laughter. To show you what that friendship looks like right now and to share the stories with your kids years from now.
Photographing this colorful group of high school girls was just that. I had never met them prior to this moment. But immediately saw the bonds, the core connection, the trust and the secrets they keep.
They are the modern day babysitters club full of grace and beauty.
I thoroughly enjoyed being in their presence and their excitement for the pictures inspired me. This was definitely a photoshoot that gave back to me!
Best friends photoshoots should be normalized and re-done each year even into adulthood!
